By partnering with the U.S. and other Pacific allies, the Pacific region will boost its semiconductor capabilities, competitiveness, and resilience while also advancing its strategic interests and values.🇺🇸Semiconductors are critical for the Pacific region, as they enable innovation and growth in various sectors, such as communication, defense, energy, and health. 

However, the Pacific region also faces challenges, such as the global chip shortage, the rise of China's semiconductor industry, and the supply chain's vulnerability. 🎯The U.S. award to GlobalFoundries, the world's third-largest contract chipmaker, offers an opportunity for the Pacific region to strengthen its collaboration with the U.S. and other like-minded partners, such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Australia, to address these challenges and seize new opportunities.
